The aim of my animatic was to create a more stable understanding of how the final video would look. It gave me a rough ideas of timings and shots I would need to collect, this would significantly reduce shooting time as I can work chronologically through the video to avoid confusion and to ensure I capture everything I need. Overall I tried to give a more animated feel to the animatic as I was conscious static frames would not be as engaging as moving visuals so I had to bare this in mind when figuring out how long each shot could be observed before loosing its impact. Pairing the song directly with visuals also helped to inspire new ideas about the video and how it would flow. It also gave me greater flexibility than a storyboard which arguably is far harder to visualise the final piece from. Overall I think my animatic was a success as I really enjoyed the flow to the video and it gave me greater confidence in how to create my music video. It provided stability to my idea and also allowed me to share my idea with the band I am working with so we can both become on the same page when it comes to production.
